In order to be
maximally effective, volunteers will be splitting up into 4
"satellite projects,” each based in one village and allied with one
Ugandan Non-Governmental Organization. Villages hosting volunteers
are all located in the Iganga District in southeastern Uganda.
Every satellite project will be conducting similar health and
education projects, as well as unique initiatives based on the
interests, talents, and specific conditions of each site.
Volunteers will be
staying in houses rented from local Non-Governmental Organizations,
some of which have electricity and running water. Volunteer houses
are located in the hub of rural centers, so that volunteers have the
opportunity to live among rural Ugandans and establish close links
with their community of service.
