Are you having trouble tracking the status of your Morris
Costumes orders? I’ve developed a new application that will read in the XML
summaries (for any time period) that you receive from Morris Costumes, and
produce a report that will show you order status, tracking information, total
cost by order, and warn you of partial shipments, backorders, and shipments from
multiple locations. You can even export the data so that
you can tie it in to other order data you may have. Demonstration Version of full Morris
Orders Application |
System
Requirements:
The demonstration is designed to run using Windows 98 or higher, and Microsoft Access 2000 or higher. Please let us know if you need to use the system with earlier versions of Windows or Microsoft Access. If you do not have Microsoft Access 2000 or above, we can send you a link where you can download a run time version of Access which will allow you to use the application.
System Features:
Although this demonstration is fully functional, it is created for demonstration use only. To obtain a license to use the live operational system, contact us. The system provides a database to store information about orders, order status and inventory availability. It provides three different interfaces with the Morris Costumes order processing system:
1. Import of Inventory Availability XML file updates.
2. Export of Orders to XML files, either in batches or individually.
3. Import of Daily Recap XML files, including Tracking Numbers
The system can automatically email the customer with a tracking number when a Daily Recap file is processed that notifies the system their order has been shipped, or these emails can be sent manually.
Orders may be entered into the system manually or cut and pasted from an order email.
Startup:
To use this demo, unzip all files into a folder called C:\MorrisDemo. Then if you have Access installed, double click on the MorrisDemo.mde file to run it.
Customization:
Because the application uses Microsoft Access, it can easily be enhanced with additional functionality. For example, reports detailing order status or sales by product could be created. We can normally provide a free quotation for any enhancements you might desire. Although this application is a “stand-alone” system, if you have an order entry system that uses a database, we can provide a quotation to tie these capabilities into your existing database. The system can also be expanded with additional interfaces, for example to update your inventory on an internet storefront like Yahoo! Stores or eBay.
Please feel free to contact us if you would like to talk
about potential enhancements or if you have questions regarding the demo.
